![]() ![]() From cast-off clothing to cortureAn inspirational article from marie claire magazine showcased how designer, Jonathan Ward created a once-off designer piece from vintage treasures found at St Vincent de Paul. This dress is inspired by Grace Kelly in To Catch A Thief. Two dresses were used to create the final piece. Marie Claire magazine shares how Jonathan Ward reworked the vintage piece by wrapping the cups and bodice in tulle from one, which flowed into the two full skirts, then used sections of lace from the second dress for the appliqué. The result is a stunning romantic piece, one of seven dresses created by various designers from Australia. I love this idea of creating a second chance for treasured dresses and it shows unique design and imagination as well as being fashionably eco-friendly. Photos originated from Marie Claire webpages |
